U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents collaborated in a significant operation on the picturesque island of Nantucket, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, aimed at apprehending individuals identified as “illegal criminal aliens”.
In a statement shared on X, the DEA’s New England division announced its support for ICE and the Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston team in carrying out the arrests. Nantucket, renowned for its stunning summer vacation homes and affluent visitors, is located approximately 30 miles south of Cape Cod, making it an unlikely setting for such law enforcement activities.
The Nantucket Current reported that the DEA confirmed the apprehension of a man with a history of serious charges, including kidnapping, along with charges of domestic assault and battery. Additionally, a woman was also arrested during the operation. However, authorities have not disclosed the identities of the suspects or their countries of origin, which has raised questions about the nature of their crimes and immigration status.
Fox News Digital has reached out to the DEA seeking further details regarding the operation and the individuals involved, underscoring the ongoing concerns about crime and immigration enforcement in the region.
