Teddi Mellencamp, known for her appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has shared a heartfelt and concerning update regarding her health. Just weeks after undergoing surgery to address her brain cancer, she revealed on Thursday, March 6, that five additional tumors have been identified in her body. These new tumors are mainly located in her brain and lungs, specifically indicating that she has two lung tumors, all of which are metastases from her melanoma.
In her Instagram post, the 43-year-old reality star and daughter of the iconic musician John Cougar Mellencamp expressed her determination to fight this challenging battle. She described the emotional weight of her diagnosis, stating, “I have multiple tumors in my brain that weren’t able to be removed via surgery. The emotional journey is immense, but I am focusing on the positive”.
Teddi, a dedicated mother of three Slate, aged 12; Cruz, aged 10; and Dove, aged 5 shared that her medical team is optimistic about her treatment plan, particularly the potential efficacy of immunotherapy to combat the tumors. Showing resilience and a fighting spirit, she affirmed, “I will win this battle”.
Additionally, she mentioned her new wig choice, humorously noting, “I got this wig because I like short hair, just not the bald spots,” a light-hearted approach in the midst of her struggle. She also reminisced about a tender moment with her friend Kyle Richards, who playfully reflected on how, right after her surgery, Teddi astounded everyone by recalling the names of all of Angelina Jolie’s children despite her disoriented state.
In this trying time, Teddi has received an outpouring of support from friends, fellow cast members, and fans, all rallying behind her with love and encouragement.
